Where We Work: Saudi Arabia

Over the past several years Saudi Arabia has undergone a series of major educational reforms to modernize the Kingdom’s education system and increase Saudis’ competitiveness at home and abroad.

Many of these reforms specifically target women, aiming to increase their access to greater educational and economic opportunities. In fact, women now make up the majority of students at higher education institutions.

Since November 2006, WIT has worked through Effat College, one of the universities at the forefront of educational reform in Saudi Arabia. WIT is implemented through Effat’s popular women’sonly Extension Program, which offers professional development courses in response to employment needs in the local community, and helps women develop life-long learning skills for professional, social, and personal enrichment.
