Middle East Partnership Initiative, United States Department of State
The Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI), located within the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs at the U.S. Department of State, assists efforts to expand political participation, strengthen civil society and the rule of law, empower women and youth, create educational opportunities, and foster economic reform throughout the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). In support of these goals, MEPI works with non-governmental organizations, the private sector, and academic institutions, as well as governments. Through its Washington headquarters and Regional Offices in Abu Dhabi and Tunis, MEPI has contributed over $530 million to more than 600 projects in 17 countries and territories since its establishment in 2002.
Through direct support to local organizations in the MENA region, MEPI is strengthening the sustainability and capacity of those that serve as the region’s most dedicated and successful agents of change. MEPI has funded projects implemented by more than 250 such organizations working to advance reform in their home countries. Approximately half of MEPI’s projects are grants made directly to these local organizations.

Institute of International Education
Founded in 1919, the Institute of International Education (IIE) is one of the world's most experienced global higher education and professional exchange organizations. IIE has long worked to implement training programs, particularly through its close relationships with universities, government agencies, and NGOs dedicated to human capacity development. IIE programs in the MENA Region aim to improve understanding between the United States and MENA countries, develop leadership in the region and build capacity among individuals and institutions to address global challenges. Approximately one-third of the 20,000 participants in IIE programs each year are from MENA countries. Increasing women's effectiveness internationally as leaders in information technology (IT), business, education, and government is a specific goal of a growing number of IIE programs.

Microsoft Corporation
Microsoft's corporate goals are focused on working to help people and businesses throughout the world realize their full potential. One tool Microsoft employs to achieve that goal is Unlimited Potential (UP). UP is a global initiative designed to help narrow the technology skills gap and aid global workforce development by providing technology skills through Community Technology Centers (CTCs). Whether in a remote village or a major metropolitan area, a CTC is a free or low-cost place where people of all ages and abilities can learn about computers, use the Internet, explore new careers, further their education, participate in community activities, or develop technology skills.
