The Business Planning for Sustainability Curriculum trained WIT Partner Organizations to design and implement a business plan. The training, offered in both English and Arabic, presented a wide range of tools to form the basis for operating a Community Technology Center (CTC) on a cost recovery model. With an emphasis on strategic planning for sustainability, partners learned how to reinvest surplus funds into IT training scholarships for women and other program activities that further their unique missions.
WIT staff and partner organizations benefited from a variety of professional exchange and capacity building activities.
Regional Training of Trainer (TOT) Sessions
Each Partner Organization enhanced its staff capabilities with instructors qualified to teach Microsoft’s Unlimited Potential classes and facilitate workshops on Professional Development and Business Planning for Sustainability. TOTs were conducted both nationally and regionally, allowing WIT staff and trainers to meet colleagues within their own country and across the MENA region.
Professional Exchange Tour
WIT Program Managers traveled annually to the San Francisco Bay Area to meet with IIE staff, attend trainings and network with NGO and business leaders in related fields.
Online Networking Forum
The WIT Forum provided a virtual platform for partners and trainers to exchange ideas on program implementation, discuss WIT trainings and coordinate activities.
Nearly all partner organization established a Professional Development Network for women, providing WIT participants with a venue to share career resources, discuss and mobilize around issues of shared interest, and engage in activities that promote their professional growth and development.
