Bahrain Woman's Union (BWU)

The Bahrain Women's Union, is a democratic civil organization representing Bahraini women associations. It has been officially registered with the Ministry of Social Development since December 16th 2006.

The Bahrain Women's Union works towards the advancement and empowerment of Bahraini women, enabling them to participate in the development process; Increasing awareness of the importance of women’s active participation in civil society institutions; and Abolition of all forms of discrimination against women.

The Bahrain Women's Union joined the Women In Technology program in 2008 as a lead partner. The Bahrain Women's Union believes that knowledge is the first step towards the advancement of women. Through the Women In Technology program, the Bahrain Women's Union aims to provide IT skills and professional skills to women who are unemployed, seeking jobs, college students, as well as women seeking financial independence through the establishment of small businesses. The Bahrain Women's Union is very keen on establishing the professional development network in its effort to encourage Bahraini women in the active participation in civil activities through civil societies.

Madinat Hamad Women's Society

Madinat Hamad Women's Society was established in 2002, being the first in the area. The mission of the society is to elevate the cultural, social and economic status of women, in addition to support women's issues in accordance with the Bahraini Constitution, the National Action Charter & International Treaties. The society also organizes education training program to meet the needs of women. Madinat Hamad Women's Society joined the Women In Technology Program, under the supervision of the Bahrain Women's Union, in 2008. Through the Women In Technology program, Madinat Hamad Women's Society is working towards the enhancement of women's educational and economic status in its community.

Riffa Cultural Charity Society

The Riffa Cultural Charity Society joined the Women In Technology program as a partner organization in the implementation of the program. The mission of the Women In Technology program, corresponds to the main objectives of the Riffa Cultural Charity Society. This mission is advancing the cultural & social status of women, and the active participation in eliminating illiteracy amongst women.
